Cesca Bench

2 Cesca Chair frames, found ply, found steel.

Cesca Bench began as 2 Cesca Chairs. Discarded and in need of restoration, the frames were combined to create a larger, single frame. Icons of Modernist Design, I wanted the rest of the design to maintain a sensitivity to the original objects. The radius of the curved ends of the bench, mirror that of the original chairs’ seats and the tensioned nature of the ply nods to the freeform, tensioned nature of the chair frames.

The piece is completely modular and the chairs can easily be reassembled.
